How to engage with our legal process

If you have a business legal expenses insurance policy, follow the simple steps below to begin. Alternatively, read about the process for self-funding a case.

1. Do you have legal expenses insurance cover?

If you have it, legal expenses insurance may cover the cost of your legal problem. You may have this as part of a general insurance policy such as home, buildings, car or motorcycle insurance. It may also be included in an employment contract or premium bank account. If you do have cover, contact your insurance provider to understand what is covered under your policy.

2. Does your policy sufficiently cover your legal issue?

If covered, your insurer will appoint a specialist lawyer to work on the particulars of your claim.

3. Self-funding?

If your claim is not covered by a legal expenses insurance policy, ARAG Law has a range of funding options available. Click here to read more.

4. Progressing your claim and managing your case

Once a lawyer has been appointed to represent you, your case will be assessed to decide if you have reasonable prospects of success. You will likely need to provide evidence about the matter in question. Once reasonable prospects have been agreed, your lawyer will then manage your case from start to finish, updating you throughout.
